London Eye er et pariserhjul eller et "Ferris Wheel", opkaldt efter George Ferris Jr, der byggede det oprindelige til 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Dog har der været lignende forlystelser, "Glædeshjul", på markedspladser siden det syttende århundrede, lavet i træ og opereret af stærke mænd. Lanceret i 2000 London Eye er det største hjul i verden, selv om High Roller i Las Vegas er det højeste. Ved 135 m er Londons hjul højt nok til at se Windsor (på en klar dag) fra en af de 32 kapsler, som hver især kan huse 25 mennesker. Det tager 30 minutter at gennemføre en fuld cirkel.
