Après une croisière de détente jusqu'à Saona, les visites pourront commencer. Very poor quality. The guide was shocking and being British appeared to much trouble to let us know what was happening The food was dreadful . The only good thing was the speed boat ride

We were picked up an hour late for our transfer to the port where we would get on the boat. Then when we were 15 minutes out at sea on the boat we the boat broke down and we were left stranded in the middle of the sea for 20 minutes whilst the driver decided whether to carry on or turn back. We ended up turning back and we only to to spend around an hour and a half on the island. Would appreciate a refund or atleast some sort of compensation for the terrible experience

The the location of the trip and service on the boat and island was exelent. However the transfers were long and drawn out the trip was sold as 8 hours but was 12 hours 5 of which were spent on a coach 45 mins spent at the tour companis office waiting for other guests to arrive

The excursion was oversubscribed. There were not enough seats on the large bus making it very difficult for people to get seated and parties were split up. The speedboat was the same, not enough space and really crammed in every last available place. Lunch was good and free time on the island was good and drinks were free flowing. Overall a good day but suggest numbers are limited a bit less.

You'll see sites dating back to the 15th century and visit the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Alcazar de Colon, which belonged to Christopher Columbus's family. You'll find out more about the complex history of the island with a 4D cinema experience recounting the storming of the city on New Year's Day in 1586 by English privateers led by Francis Drake.Next, hop aboard a mini-train for a tour of the colonial zone before stopping for lunch. You'll drive through winding rural dirt tracks through plantations all the way to the famous Domitai Cave Park and a replica Taino village. Luis, one of our local guides, says, ‘We are the world's largest producer of organic, fair trade cocoa. Around half of our cocoa is made into the finest chocolate you can buy. So, trying traditional cocoa products in a Dominican farm is a real treat, even if you don't have a sweet tooth.'Kick off with some mud-splattered, high-octane fun as you ride cross-country to a cenote cave for a swim in the Domitai Cave Park. These sinkholes with clear, fresh water are perfect for a cooling dip. As it's a private venue, there are fewer crowds and vendors than at other cenotes. You'll also get to savour some local specialities such as empanadas and pineapple wine.
