O que esperar

Discover the east part of Madeira. After hotel pickup, start your tour by heading towards Pico do Arieiro, the highest mountain accessible by car and the third-highest of the island (1818m). Here you will be astonished by the fantastic views over the mountains and the nature of the island. Descend towards Ribeiro Frio located in the middle of the "Laurisilva" (local laurel forest). It's part of the World Heritage of UNESCO and a great spot to watch the nature.

Continuing along the north coast, you'll pass through Faial and arrive at Santana. This town is known for its typical and original thatched-roof houses. After lunch, admire Ponta de São Lourenço, with several rocky formations and impressive views. Last but not least, before returning to your hotel, visit Machico. It's the historic city where the discoverers landed on Madeira for the first time in 1419.

    Bussen var mycket obekväm och lämpade sig för mindre barn. 4 av 19 i gruppen var tyskspråkiga men verkade kunna engelska. Turen skulle vara på engelska men vår guide valde att till mer än 50% prata tyska vilket irriterad resten av gruppen.

    Benjamin was een geweldige gids. Hij gaf veel interessante uitleg tijdens het rijden en bracht ons naar de mooiste plekken van het eiland. We voelden ons zeer veilig tijdens de rit met het minibusje. In het busje was er een beetje weinig beenruimte.

    Opgepikt in area Santa Cruz tegen een meerkost van 15eu/pp. Echter zaten we een uur in de bus om iedereen op te pikken in Funchal om vervolgens de area Santa Cruz terug te passeren voor de oost tour. Gelukkig op de terugweg wel als eerste afgezet. De meerkost van deze 15 euro leek ons dit niet waard. Fijne stopplekken enkel voor de stop bij Pico do Arieiro en ponta de Sao Lorenzo te weinig tijd. Op een half uur had je onvoldoende tijd om rustig rond te wandelen.

    We loved the East island tour. There was so much to see.. Our multi lingual guide was amazing. He was so friendly and his communication was exemplary. We had time to explore lots of places and landscapes and we were educated about the nature of the island. We enjoyed it so much, we booked the West island tour. Thoroughly recommended.
