What to expect

Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius are the Beauty and the Beast of the Amalfi Coast. On this excursion through epic landscapes, you'll explore the fascinatingly haunting archaeological site of Pompeii before going to the crater of the volcano. A daytrip that feature oodles of history and nature.

First up, your guide will lead you through the streets of Pompeii. Buried under volcanic ash by Vesuvius's eruption of 79 AD, it has been clawed back from Mother Nature and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the richly decorated villas of the Roman nobility – you can still see frescoes on the walls – as well as public spaces such as the Forum, Amphitheatre and gladiator barracks.

Then, in the afternoon, you'll become acquainted with Mt Vesuvius – the architect of Pompeii's destruction. Going by road to the 1,000m mark, a guide will then escort you to the summit to take in the views – visibility permitting – over the Bay of Naples. On the journey back, there's a visit to cameo and coral factory.

Au cours de cette excursion à travers des paysages épiques, vous explorerez le site archéologique fascinant de Pompéi, avant de rejoindre le cratère du volcan. Une excursion d'une journée qui met en avant l'histoire et la nature.Vous commencerez par une visite guidée de Pompéi. Ensevelie sous les cendres volcaniques par l'éruption du Vésuve en 79 après J.C., c'est désormais une œuvre de Dame Nature, inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco. Vous découvrirez les villas richement décorées de la noblesse romaine avec des fresques sur les murs encore apparentes, ainsi que des espaces publics tels que le forum, l'amphithéâtre et les casernes de gladiateurs.Dans l'après-midi, ce sera le Mont Vésuve "l'architecte" et coupable de la destruction de Pompéi. Vous serez conduit jusqu'à 1000 mètres d'altitude et un guide vous accompagnera jusqu'au sommet, afin d'admirer les vues sur la baie de Naples si la visibilité le permet. Capri Island Boat Cruise from Maiori

Capri is a small island with a big reputation. On this boat trip, you'll cruise around it, with stops to take in famous natural landmarks as well as swim in the sea. There's also the option of a visit to the Blue Grotto. That's not all though – there'll be some free time in Capri town.Travelling from Maiori, you'll zoom over to Positano or Praiano port by speedboat. On arrival, you'll be welcomed aboard a traditional Sorrentine gozzo boat and sail across the Bay of Naples to Capri. Cruise past the Natural Arch, Santa Croce Bay and the fjord of Furore. There's also a photo stop at Marina di Praia. We'll then continue west, drifting by the Sirenuse Islands, locally known as Li Galli – ‘the Cocks'.Once we've reached Capri, you'll catch sight of the White Grotto, the Natural Arch, Villa Malaparte, Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola and the Green Grotto for a swim. There's an optional visit into the Blue Grotto available, too. We'll then dock in Capri town for some free time for shopping. To round off the cruise, there'll be a swimming stop on the return to Maiori.
