This is a must-do experience! These are rescued elephants and you can see that the team love them and their job. From the moment you arrive their hospitality (a cold drink and a snack), professionalism, knowledge and friendliness is infectious. The camp itself doesn’t advertise itself and is situated way back off the main road right in the middle of farm land and jungle. After some insightful information, make the food and FEED the elephants (and stroke them ??). Kids loved it but so did we!
Feeding and seeing Asian elephants up close is one of Thailand's bucket list experiences, so this half-day tour takes you to Samui Elephant Home to meet them. You'll see them in the mud spa and help to prepare their food, before walking with them through Koh Samui's lush natural surroundings.
Samui Elephant Home works to help and care for elephants with the aim of releasing Asian elephants into the wild and conserving the species for generations to come. And you'll be able to take a look into the project's hard work by helping them with their daily routine and learning about elephant conservation in Koh Samui.
On arrival, you'll be given an introduction to the centre, then it's over to the food prep station to prepare the elephants' meals before feeding them. During this activity, you'll be able to learn about the elephant's dietary needs, and even a find out about the individual quirks of each animal. Afterwards, you'll head over to the mud spa, then walk with them, observing the way they play and interact with their natural habitat.
